Fire Island Case Study

Fire Island - Complete 200 X 200Site:

Fire Island, NY
Ocean Beach

Application Overview:

We worked with D&B Engineers and Architects along with Galvin Bros to design and build a stormwater pump station and controls building for the Village of Ocean Beach on Fire Island. The design was assembled and tested to meet New York State P.E. requirements for stormwater pump stations. Some interesting aspects of this design were the flood proof doors and the roof top access hatch that were designed specifically for the high flood risk in its location.

Pump Station Details:

This pump station used a precast concrete control building that came prefabricated with the piping, valves, and control panel ready for connection at site. It sat adjacent to an 8 ft. wide by 26 ft. deep precast concrete wet well with a triplex ArcSentry™ control panel. Pumping throughout were three Barnes 15 HP explosion proof submersible solids handling pumps rated for 2315 GPM @ 20 TDH each.
