Mechanical Designer

This is a fulltime first shift position (Monday – Friday) 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Position Overview:

Join our team as a Mechanical Designer, where you'll utilize your expertise in SolidWorks and data management tools to craft and refine 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs. Your contributions will be instrumental in the development, documentation, and management of engineering designs and specifications.

Duties & Responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Layouts, Drawings, and Designs: Prepare meticulous layouts, drawings, and designs in strict adherence to engineering specifications, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision.
  • Collaboration with Sales and Project Management: Partner closely with our Sales and Project Management teams to conceptualize and develop custom designs tailored to meet specific client needs and project requirements.
  • Bill of Materials (BOM) Management: Create comprehensive BOMs and liaise with vendors to ensure seamless coordination, meeting project deadlines while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  • Optimization of Design Processes: Employ a strategic blend of preliminary information and pertinent data to refine and optimize designs, achieving the best possible outcomes.
  • Customer-Centric Approach: Generate project and build drawings with meticulous attention to detail, precisely aligning with customer specifications and expectations.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of drawings to guarantee completeness, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational guidelines.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Embrace versatility by taking on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to the dynamic and collaborative culture of our team.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years professional experience in drafting, mechanical or tool design required.
  • Experience with SolidWorks required.
  • Ability to effectively apply all drafting standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to input and maintain neat and accurate records.
  • Flexibility when working with multiple projects at the same time.
  • Well-rounded mechanical background.
  • Experience in plumbing/piping/civil/construction design experience preferred.
  • Uncompromising attitude toward safety and quality.
  • Ability to manipulate CAD views to redesign, modify or edit existing design.
  • Ability to handle a constantly changing series of priorities.
  • Ability to complete assignments with minimum or no instruction, and meet deadlines as required.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to make decisions on design details, BOMs and final checking.
