Application Overview:

The LIRR Expansion project on Long Island, NY, is one of the region’s most significant transportation infrastructure projects. The School Street grade crossing in Westbury, New York is one of seven street-level crossings along the LIRR Main Line being eliminated, which will enhance safety within the community and strengthen the reliability of LIRR infrastructure for years to come.

Pump Station Details:

Excel Fluid Group worked with the Design-Build team: 3RD Track Constructors which included John P Picone Inc. and Stantec, to propose a turn-key controls building and 8 in. Sulzer-ABS 12 HP pumps rated for 1040 GPM each. The precast controls building satisfied the client’s concern about field installation issues and ensured all components were factory tested prior to being installed at the jobsite. A CAT generator was also supplied.
