Georgia Power Company

AP3 Landfill

Macon, GA

Application Overview:

Georgia Power Company worked with Jacobs Engineering Atlanta office to design an erosion, sedimentation and pollution control plan to service the AP3 Landfill at the Former Plan Arkwright and to monitor the stormwater run-off to Beaverdam Creek, a tributary to the Ocmulgee River.

Pump Station Details:

Jacobs Engineering contacted Excel Fluid Group for assistance in designing a package pump station for this project. An Excel Fluid Group factory built pump station with a structural HDPE wet well, aluminum NoVault enclosure and Barnes 5 Hp grinder pumps was deemed most suitable for this application. The Excel NoVault satisfied the client’s concern about confined space hazards as all service can be performed at grade and the HDPE wet well provided superior corrosion resistance to potentially contaminated ground water and stormwater run-off from the landfill area.
