Indian Head, Maryland
Naval Support Facility
We worked with Etolin Strait and NAVFAC to design and build multiple turn-key packaged pump stations for the Indian Head, Maryland Naval Support Facility and Stump Neck Annex. Each station was designed to replace failing infrastructure around the Navy Base. NSF Indian Head was established in 1890 and is the Navy's oldest continuously operating ordnance station.
The featured station #5 is a conventional concrete pump station. It includes a 8 ft. diameter by 25 ft. deep concrete wet well and is equipped with 2 Barnes 40Hp explosion proof pumps rated for 500 GPM @ 135 TDH. The entire station is being controlled by an Excel NEMA 4X SS free-standing control panel w/40Hp VFD's and a PumpVision Controller. A flow meter was included in the valve vault to provide accurate flow rates and this is remotely communicated back to the base operations team.
The installation was completed by Etolin Strait with the oversight of Excel Fluid Group.
