West Shore Drive GIT Lift Station

Application Overview:

In collaboration with U.P. Engineers & Architects, we designed a wastewater pump station for West Shore Dr. in Munising, Michigan. The new system replaces a failing septic system that serviced a three -story hotel located along the shore of Lake Superior.

Pump Station Details:

Our team constructed a turnkey duplex submersible pump station, featuring a 6 foot diameter by 15 feet deep HDPE wet well and two ABS XFP submersible pumps (212 GPM @ 53.8 TDH). The station includes a 20 foot by 10 foot insulated fiberglass building housing a NEMA control panel with VFDs, PLC/HMI, level transducer, and redundant float switches, along with a skid-mounted Cummins propane standby generator with automatic transfer switch to ensure continuous operation. Prefabricated internal piping includes a 4 inch ductile iron discharge header, Mag flow meter, air-release valve, and isolation/bypass connections, all factory-assembled, performance-tested, and delivered ready for site installation.

Installation:

The installation was completed by Smith Construction with the oversight of Excel Fluid Group as shown below:
